U.S. Exporter InformationIncreased growth in the retail sector and strong institutional buyers makes Israel a promising market for U.S. exporters of high-value food products. In addition, the current exchange rate between the U.S. dollar and the euro favor U.S. suppliers over their European counterparts. Israel also has the potential to be a “bridge” to the Palestinian Authority with its rapidly growing population. There are however, other considerations facing exporters such as high shipping costs from the U.S., growing competition from the Far East and FSU, and the religious restrictions imposed on the import of non-kosher meat and poultry products into Israel.
